Here For Good
& Still Growing
In 2023, Melton became the first remodeler in Colorado to earn B Corp Certification. In March 2026, we recertified with a B Impact Score of 94.6, up 6 points from our initial certification.
That number matters, but mostly because of what it reflects. B Corp Certification measures how a company shows up for its team, clients, community, and environment. The minimum score to be certified is 80. The median score for businesses completing the assessment is 50.9. Our score is 94.6.
What is a B Corp
B Corp Certification is a rigorous designation awarded to businesses that meet verified standards of performance, accountability, and transparency across workers, customers, community, environment, and governance.
It is administered by B Lab and looks at how a company operates as a whole, not just what it says it values. To become certified, a business must complete the B Impact Assessment and score 80 or above.
For us, B Corp Certification matters because it reflects a broader responsibility to the people we work with, the communities we build in, and the impact of our decisions over time.
Why We Certified
We pursued B Corp Certification because it reflects the kind of company we want to be. This has always been about more than meeting a standard – it’s about building a business that takes care of people, pays attention to its impact, and stays accountable to the communities we serve. Certification gives structure to that commitment and asks us to keep improving over time.
By positively engaging with our community and prioritizing employee well-being, we’re committed to Using Business As A Force For Good.
Recertification feels different than the first certification. The first time we were setting a standard for ourselves. This time, with a higher score, we’re showing that the commitment is growing in leaps and bounds.

Recertification feels different than the first certification. The first time we were setting a standard for ourselves. This time, with a higher score, we’re showing that the commitment is growing in leaps and bounds. What makes me most proud is not just the number; it’s what the number reflects—people across our team making thoughtful decisions every day about materials, methods, and how we show up in our community.

What This Score Reflects
B Corp Certification is rigorous for any business. For a design-build firm, it asks us to look at more than internal operations.
It measures how we show up across our team, our community, and our environmental practices. That includes where materials come from, how trade partners operate on our jobsites, and how we contribute to the places where people live, work, and gather.
One of the clearest examples of that community commitment is Melton Cares, our charitable initiative officially launched in 2024. Melton Cares focuses on improving accessibility, safety, comfort, and community enjoyment through projects in homes and public spaces. In 2025, that included an accessible main-level renovation in Longmont and accessibility improvements at Bill Bower Park in South Boulder.
That same year, our team also recycled, diverted, or donated more than 16 tons of materials for reuse. Together, those efforts reflect a broader approach to accountability: caring about how the work gets done, who it serves, and the impact it leaves behind.
Continuous Improvement
B Corps recertify every three years, and the process is designed to measure progress over time. Our score in March 2026 was 94.6, up 6 points from our initial certification in 2023.
That growth reflects years of evaluating our practices, making improvements, and paying attention to the details that shape how we work every day.

Our strongest impact area is Community. That shows up in different ways, from partnering with local non-profits to our Melton Cares program, which formalized our community giving work in 2024 and expanded it through accessibility-focused projects in 2025. It also shows up in the quieter systems behind the scenes, including our environmental practices, trade partner relationships, and efforts to keep usable materials in circulation longer.
We’re proud of this achievement and we’re even more proud of the people and processes that help us realize this vision every day.
