An Outdoor Space
for Relaxation and Entertaining

Last winter, Sandy and Tom Hay started making plans to celebrate their son’s upcoming graduation in June. As they thought about spaces for the party they wanted to host, they discussed the idea of covering part of their deck. Not only would it make a perfect gathering place for the celebration, it would also make the deck more usable throughout the year.

Tom’s uncle was delighted with the patio project we’d completed for him last year and referred the Hays to us.

The party date was fast approaching, so we had the design underway within a few weeks. Despite the overly wet spring , we were able to finish the project in plenty of time for the Hays’ graduation party.

“We are extremely pleased with the work,” says Sandy. “I wasn’t sure how much shade the pergola would give, but it is just perfect! Our upper deck, which is completely covered, has a ‘mini cabin’ feel, and we are out there all the time, even when it rains!”

We were happy to hear that the new space was a huge success for entertaining and for family enjoyment!

It’s August: Think Winter!

August is the perfect time to make sure you don’t get left out in the cold come winter! In fact, taking a few precautions and making a few “fixes” now can go a long way toward making your home – and your energy bill – more pleasant throughout the cold months ahead.

One of the first steps is to find out where outside air is entering your home and where inside air is seeping out. Insulation is another key factor. If you don’t have the right amount or type for our Colorado winters, or if it hasn’t been spread evenly, you could lose 20-30% of your heat this winter.

Our energy department would be happy to come out and conduct a home performance energy audit for you. We can pinpoint the problems that can not only make your home feel uncomfortable this winter, but also increase your use of natural resources and your energy costs. We’ll then recommend the smartest options for improving your home’s energy performance and assist you in prioritizing upgrades and determining best-value options to meet your objectives and fit your budget.

Call us now and we can be sure to make those fixes so you qualify for federal energy tax credits before they expire this December.
