Water Element Inspired

Devil’s Thumb Whole Home Renovation

To meet the needs of a growing family that loves their travel time near the oceans the Melton team completed a total redesign of both the interior and exterior of the home (before photos located at the bottom of the post). The chic updates give the home a contemporary and clean feel with beautiful and unique design elements found throughout the home.

In the Master Bathroom:
Blue and natural tones can be found throughout the space, and specific textures (wood grain tiles, smooth cabinet pulls) were included to help ensure that this space was everything the client wanted it to be. Strategic window placement allows for maximum natural light and privacy. A giant soaking tub, matching that of the clients’ favorite hotel destination, allows the client to transport themselves to a relaxing time and space every time they bathe.

In the Kitchen:
There was a significant transformation from the original layout and dated design. A waterfall style kitchen island with porcelain countertops serves as a beautiful focal point and entertaining hub. After structural changes and creative design, the kitchen is now open to the rest of the home. This allows the clients to better engage with the other spaces in the home, and enjoy the outdoor views. The sleek cabinets and floating desk add to the functionality and beauty of the space. Now, this is a space that the family enjoys spending time in.

In the Living Room:
Originally, the gorgeous view of the flatirons was obstructed by a bar through the top of the windows. And the room was disconnected from the rest of the home by walls and a small staircase to the top floor. To capitalize on the view a new focal window was installed, and additional large format sliding doors and windows help bring more of the outside in. The fireplace was finished with beautiful 3D tile that resembles sand at the beach and continues the water theme found in the rest of the home. With a reconfiguration and redesign of the stairs from the living room to the top floor, the flow throughout the home is seamless and the stairs themselves became an upscale design feature.
