 Home Energy Audits
Most commonly, these home energy audits include blower door and thermal testing to identify where air is coming into or leaving your home and where the insulation of your home is insufficient, degrading your home's energy efficiency.
Other home energy audits can include evaluation of the home's energy efficiency for systems and equipment such as heating, cooling, ventilation, air quality, hot water, water use and other components that affect your home's energy and performance.
Home Energy and Performance Recommendations
and Consultation
Upon completion of a home energy audit, we can prepare a set of home energy and performance recommendations to improve your home's energy and performance. We can assist you in determining which home energy options will provide you the most value, meet your objectives, and fit your budget. Unlike most companies conducting Home Energy Audits, we at Melton are also remodelers, so we can provide you with cost information as well as help you plan out a home energy and performance upgrade program you can implement over time.
Home Energy Upgrades and Building Performance Upgrades
 The benefit of using us to do the home energy audit of your home's performance and determine the best and most cost-effective ways to improve it, is that we can also perform the home energy upgrade. Complete home energy upgrades can involve many components of your home. For many homes, 80% of your home energy performance, is related to your home's "envelope" and how airtight it is. If you are doing an exterior remodel or a whole house remodel, a home energy upgrade is most cost effectively done in conjunction with those types of projects.
